Order too few pops and your cousins will fight over the last Alphonso. Order too many and you'll be eating Watermelon for breakfast for a week. Here's how to get it right.
The rule of thumb
Plan for one to two pops per guest. Where you land in that range depends on four things.
- Time of day. Daytime and afternoon events go through more pops than evenings.
- Weather. A May wedding in Hyderabad is very different from a December one.
- Kids. Children reliably come back for a second pop, and sometimes a third.
- Other desserts. If there's a full sweet counter, guests will split their appetite.
Quick calculator
You'll need about 260 pops
An estimate only. We'll confirm the right number when you enquire.
When in doubt, round up. Nobody has ever complained about a spare popsicle.
Picking flavours for a crowd
- Fruity pops (about a third): for vegan, lactose-free and lighter-eating guests. Watermelon, Lemon Mint.
- Creamy crowd-pleasers (about half): Alphonso Mango, Strawberry, Oreo.
- A couple of specials: the conversation starters, like Rainbow Mix or Araku Filter Coffee.
Timing matters
Serve pops when guests are waiting or wandering: during photos, while dinner is being set up, or on a hot afternoon between functions. At weddings, sangeet and haldi are ideal. Our wedding popsicle guide goes deeper.
Pop Cart or bulk order?
For bigger events, the Pop Cart is the easiest option: we bring the cart, the pops and the team to serve. For smaller home parties, a bulk order delivered cold works well. Not sure? Ask us and we'll suggest the right format.
A few real-world examples
- A 60-guest birthday at home in May: plenty of kids, afternoon heat. Plan on around 100 to 110 pops.
- A 300-guest evening reception with a dessert counter: about 300 pops is usually plenty.
- A 120-person office party: roughly 160 to 180 pops, with a good share of fruity flavours for vegan colleagues.
- A college fest stall: footfall is unpredictable, so talk to us and we'll help you plan by expected crowd.
Keeping pops cold on the day
This is the bit people forget. Popsicles need to stay frozen until the moment they're handed out. For home parties, clear freezer space the day before. For larger events, the Pop Cart takes care of it: we bring the freezer, the pops and the team.
Send us your date and guest count and we'll take it from there.
